You’re a good man, Arthur Morgan.Sadie Adler · Red Dead Redemption 2
A western that respects your time and then breaks your heart in the epilogue. A gang running out of country in 1899, watching the frontier close around them a season at a time, led by a man who keeps saying he has a plan.
It is really about a man finding out he is dying and deciding, quite late, what he wants the last of it to have been for. Nothing else in games has an ending quite like it.
Honor
One bar, running the whole game. Rob a stranger and it drops; pay a widow’s debt, tip in a shop, or free a trapped animal and it climbs. Nothing about it is announced.
It quietly rewrites Arthur: what he says to camp, what shopkeepers charge, which strangers help him, and, at the very end, how the last ride is filmed. Two players finish the same story and describe two different men.
