Six Flags

Named for the six flags that have flown over Texas, which is a peculiar name for a chain that now runs parks in half the country and none of the rest of them in Texas. The first one opened in Arlington in 1961 and the name never got revisited.

The pitch has never been theming and it has never pretended otherwise. Magic Mountain has more roller coasters than any park on earth, and the whole proposition of the place is that number and the queue times that come with it.
